WHY SCOUTING?
The aim of Scouting worldwide is to help young people grow into:
adults of good character
good citizens, and
physically and mentally fit individuals.

WHO WE ARE?
First organized in 1964, generations of Islanders have come through BSA Troop 624 over the past several decades. We meet every Monday at 7:00 pm while the MI schools are in session, either at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church or on Zoom.
HOW WE DO THIS?
Our programs happen at weekly meetings, during monthly outdoor activities, and at various summer camps and other outings, including a week-long summer camp at Camp Parsons, the oldest Scout camp west of the Mississippi. The Troop also sends Scouts to the various “High Adventure” BSA camps around the country.
Scouting was founded as “a game with a purpose.” Our programs offer fun and challenging activities structured to reinforce the ideals and methods of BSA Scouting:
working together in groups,
personal growth and advancement,
outdoor and emergency skills,
youth leadership, and
positive adult role models
